Skeptical at first; quickly hooked.

We have a new obsession. It started just a few weeks before our wedding and has kept us busy watching the DVD’s every night. Last night we completed season two just in time for Monday’s premiere of season three of HEROES.

When we rented disc one of season one, I thought, this is not going to measure up to the recent super hero movies I have seen, so I won’t like it. NOT THE CASE. We loved it from the get go. Season one is awesome!!!! Season two had the writers strike so it is not as great, but still worth watching.

I don’t know how we are going to survive a week between each episode because we have watched 3-4 a night!!!!!! What some may say is a huge waste of time; we really enjoy snuggling up to a great show.

Here is a brief description…..a few people have found they have these special abilities. They range in ages, sexes, symptoms, etc. Some have cellular regeneration (can heal themselves), some can move objects with their mind, others fly, some are radioactive, etc. Then there is this company that you are not sure is good or bad. They take in these people and get them help and/or experiment with their abilities.

One disclaimer: I would not recommend watching with any children. It is pretty violent/graphic (with brains being cut out and people split in half). Not every episode is like that, but there have been a few scenes that I wonder how they showed them on regular TV. Side note--I should not be surprised; look at other shows or stations like MTV, they will pass anything as ok for TV!

I don’t want to give anything away, but it comes highly recommended by ME!

The post about our wedding & honeymoon.

We tried to save money every way possible, so we ended up doing many things ourselves or using the talents of members of our family. It definitely saved us, but kept us on our toes and busy every minute leading up to the wedding. The ceremony was unfortunately not our highlight. We both imagined something a little more, not a two minute reading of the typical vowes, mispronunciation of Scothern and the rings were not presented before we were pronounced husband & wife...but oh well...what can you do? The reception on the other hand was wonderful! It was in beautiful Mountain Green at Mindy's. The lighting was beautiful; especially at dusk as the sky got dim. We couldn't have asked for better weather...not too hot or too cold. It rained the next day really bad, so we are lucky we missed the storm.

The reception was just what we wanted; simple & sweet. I really enjoyed being with our family. I liked having a day just for us--shared with those who mean the most! Thank you to all of those who helped with flowers, decorating, hosting, etc. We had a wonderful time!!!!!

I can't wait to see the pictures from our photographer but I will post a few of mine & Gary's. I had a little veil trouble & my hair started to slowly fall out....but just don't look too close.

Onto the honeymoon....four words. NO LOTIONS OR LIQUIDS. It is not what you think. The morning after our reception we went to the airport. It was Clayton's second time flying and I had not been in a plane for years. Needless to say we did not know the new rules about LOTIONS/LIQUIDS. For those of you who do not know, you cannot carry on anything over 3 oz (some idiot decided to make a bomb with carry on liquids and now the rest of us are screwed). Anywho--We get ready to go through security and we are stopped. They emptied out our bags....of course we had packed in our lotions, sunscreen, the obvious ky supply, makeup, solarcane, etc. in our carry on. They guy looked at us and said, "You crazy kids" (like we were perv's) as he proceeded to tell us the rules. So, we go back to our already checked bags, have them pull it off the plane and added the items. Then headed back with our okay-ed bag to security. AGAIN WE WERE STOPPED FOR STUFF THEY HAD MISSED, perfume, lotion, face wash, etc. I was so mad. I finally said, "This is BS, dump everything out and do it right so we do not get stopped again". So, we went back for a second time to add more stuff to our checked luggage--but ending up just paying to check EVERYTHING. Embarrassed and almost late, we boarded our plane.




THANK GOODNESS WE LOVED SAN DIEGO. It was beautiful! The only thing we did not like was a 32oz Coke was $3. I was dying. I wanted to save our money but needed that coke--so we binged. We got to our room, unpacked and called a taxi for the zoo. The zoo was great. It was so pretty!!!! I have more pics to post later. I love animals--I do feel bad for them locked up, but I like being able to see animals we would not be able to see otherwise.

We stayed in a fabulous hotel in downtown. Nerdy as it is, it was an old bank. In the basement was their old safe deposit that you could go into. It was nerdily cool. I couldn't believe it was built in the 1920's. The best pic was of the women on the 8th floor shooting range; the owner didn't want his bank to get robbed so he made all women practice on their lunch shooting. Then gave each a gun to keep at the teller line. Sweet!
The nightlife was fun to see in downtown. It was Sunday (before Labor Day) so everyone was out on the town. The only bad thing is hearing the "unce, unce, unce" thumping of the bass at the clubs next door.
The next morning we boarded our ship. Our room was a little ghetto, orange carpet, two twin beds pushed together and a plastic wall decoration with an orange vinyl ship on it (with a light behind it). At first we were skeptical, but it was fine. The food was fantastic. Bread, bread, bread, steak, dessert, bread and more dessert was my menu. Yum! Our dinner partners were so much fun. Their nickname was Kentucky (yes both of them). They participated in a game show that gave them that name & it stuck. They made our meal time fun.....yes they were drunk.....but so was everyone else on our ship. We were a little disappointed that the entire ship was geared towards drinkers but it was still fun. We did have our share of virgin specialty drinks though! My mouth is still watering for another virgin strawberry/banana daiquiri. MMMMM.




My favorite part of the cruise was an air guitar championship. We were in the casino and I heard some Poison playing in the background. I followed the noise and low & behold there was the competition. Two minutes too late to join (or I could have won)...it was fun to watch. The entertainment on the ship was similar to lagoon so we skipped out on most shows after the first night of torture. Karaoke was alright, although mixed with all of the drunks, no one could carry a tune. A few were still dang funny. One girl could not read worth beans. She was trying out for a Madonna part , singing like a virgin, in a later show and could not read the lyrics. The lyrics said "I made it through the wilderness" and she said, "Wild-er-ness". WOW. We were laughing so hard. Who would do that to themselves? If you can't read or don't already know the lyrics by heart, why get up there???? It was entertaining at least.

We stopped at Cabo and did a zipline tour. Our tour guide looked exactly like Nadal the tennis player. All of the guides were hilarious; they definitely made it memorable. I thought I would be a little more scared than I was, but the height factor didn't scare me. I loved zipping over a canyon. Clayton was glad I did something a little adventurous. There was one part where you had to climb a rock wall and I hated it. The pegs were so far apart I could hardly reach, so I was frustrated at that part....but the rest was fantastic. Too bad they wouldn't let us take our cameras. Here is after the hot sweaty trip (we look terrific, I know. Just look at that sweat).

Ensenada was our last stop and it was LAME. It smelled like sewage and it was similar to Tijuana. We did a little shopping and just went back on the boat to eat. We did get a few pictures with the Mexico flag for our souvenir, along with the only few spots it was clean :).

Anywho--now we are home and life is slowing getting back to normal.

Clayton & I have got most everything ready for the wedding, we are just waiting for the day to roll around. I am sick of the mall, Riverdale road, and being so darn busy! I Need Help....pretty please

So, I stayed up last night until 2:30am trying to find some "dance music" for our wedding. We want everyone to know, like and want to dance to our songs. Too Busy

I still have not had time to post the pictures of my ring. Horrible, I know. I do have my dress, our honeymoon, decorations and a few other things done.....so I guess that is why there has been no time to post pictures of my sparkly ring! I just love it.

We have not gotten home before 11pm since last Thrusday (except Wednesday which we were busy doing stuff at home). Our plans are coming right along, although I am sick of the mall since we have went there back and forth several times. We found some great decorations to borrow (thanks Vicky) and I found some gorgeous flowers for my bouquet.....mmmmm lillies, orchids and peonies. LOVE EM. It has been so busy though getting everything ready, I just remind myself of our vaction coming....we are going on a mexico cruise to Cabo. I can't wait!!!! Sunshine and no work! It will be heaven!!!!!

So, anywho--no one has been updating their blog and this post is borning (to say the least) but I thought I should put something out there.


Anyone seen the new batman??????? I procrastinated getting midnight tickets so now we are wiating for a good time to go. I heard it is beyond fantastic!

I am engaged!

I am horrible at writing stories (and I don’t want to botch this one).....so simply put, bright and early on Saturday morning, Clayton drove me up to Francis Peak (the two golf balls on the mountain in Farmington) and purposed. Even though we have been dating for so long, I still can’t believe it is finally here! We are getting married on August 30th in Mountain Green and Mindy & Steve’s new home (Thank you thank you thank you thank you--Mindy).

Premature Twilight

Lydia was nice enough to let me borrow a book everyone has been raving about, Twilight. I started it about a week ago, only reading a few pages. Then Sunday I read about a hundred. Then the other night, I read another hundred. The addiction is beginning; I hopefully will have some free time in the next day or two to finish it. I am too much of a weakling to stay awake all night reading…..

I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I will admit, I don’t usually read for fun, but I forgot how much I actually like it when I can read at my own pace & there are no papers assigned to the reading. I had forgotten how fun and entertaining it can be, when I am reading just for me.

Anywho—my only criticism (I know some will totally disagree) but I don’t like how cheesy-chivalrous Edward is. I do catch myself smiling at how sweet he is, but he is always right there, always so dreamy, etc. etc. I know that is his character, but it is laid on a little too thick for me. Anywho—that is it—not bad for my only criticism. I totally love everything else. I love how quirky and clumsy Belle is—so easy to relate to. I am getting more and more sucked in every page!

Old Lady Pooper

I must say the bathroom habits of those who work in our building are beyond what you would think is "lady-like". Sometimes rather funny, but most of the time disgusting. Anywho--here is the story of what I would like to call Old Lady Pooper.

It was mid-day when I decided I needed to run to the bathroom to relieve my bladder from the several glasses of water I had been drinking (Yes, you read right, WATER not COKE). I go into the far stall, lock the door and begin unzipping my pants. Someone else entered the bathroom and proceeded to my door, pushing it, trying with all of their might to get in. I wanted to say, "Um, yeah, locked!", but didn't. All I saw was a rush of big red hair. She decided to use the open stall right next to me. Open, what a concept.

I had to cover my mouth....she started grunting and pushing OUT LOUD. I thought a hidden camera was going to come through the door at any minute. I was tyring so hard not to giggle out loud....just had to cover my mouth and pray her grunting and splashing would cover my low laughing. I began wondering if she realized someone was actually in there. I mean she did try the door, but seriously quiet it down sister!

Then she started talking to herself, mumbling almost under her breath, all the while still GRUNTING; "I hate that man, I wish I never gave him a father's day card". A few more splashes and then more mumbling but iwas lower than before and muffled....she was actually on her CELL PHONE WHILE POOPING! I was hearing the person on the other end between her mumblings. I was really holding back the laughter now. How can she grunt into the phone, splash and continue on. Who is this person!!!!

Hanging slightly under the stall wall was the toilet paper. I could see it. It never moved! Not when she was done, not before she pulled up her pants. No joke....she did not use the toilet paper. She flushed exited the stall and then the bathroom. No water, no soap, no papertowel sounds either, just walked right out of the restroom.

NO TOILET PAPER and DID NOT WASH HER HANDS. How disgusting is that! Seriously there are so many things wrong with that, I don't really know where to start. All the while I am sitting in my stall trying to keep my laughter at a minimum. I rushed out of my stall to spray the entire restroom with lysol.

One of the many bathroom stories we have here at America West Bank. Always remember, never put money in your mouth, you just never know who has touched it and where they have been!!!!!

Sunshine!

HORAY FOR SUNSHINE! It is about time I think. I have been waiting for so long to see the beautiful sun out! I needed to update my blog, even though I don't have too much to say...just yet.

We finally laid sod for the pups a few weekends ago--it looks so much better than the dead leafy, grassy, bird seed, junk that was out there. Now we are hoping the dogs will use it! We think that since it is so small, they don't like to dirty their area--so they continue to use potty pads in the house. I must say, I am over potty pads! It is about $50 every few weeks!!!!! I am glad they at least go on the pads, but my goodness, OUTSIDE PLEASE. Chloe is pretty good at going out back, but Izzy on the other hand has lived most her life inside (since we got her in October) and is not used to going to the bathroom outside. I sure hope she catches on soon. It is partially our fault because we aren't consistently taking her out like we did with Chloe when we first got her.

Don't get me wrong, we just love them! We saw three shih tzu puppies this weekend and I just remember how cute they are. Seeing a puppy again makes me realize how much they have actually grown. Yes, they are still small in comparison to other dogs, but those lil' pups are so CUTE and small. Just a little cuddly ball of fur. Who couldn't love them?????


Our pups hair is finally growing out. I think we are going to keep Izzy pretty short, she seems to like it and the hair isn't all curly crazy. But Chloe, we like the shaggy look. I will have to post some more pics soon, for now they are old ones.

Cinema & Summer Cuts

Funny story first--the short version.

So the entire time I have dated Clayt we have never done a "double-feature". You know, go from one movie to another (planning just right with show times) to get your monies worth. Yes, I have received the lecture from my Dad before about how that is dishonest....I understand. But, it is fun and rebellish......

Anywho, after seeing "What happens in Vegas" on Saturday, we decided to sneak into "Indiana Jones". It had only been showing for about 10 minutes. I jokingly leaned over to Clayton and said, "It's not so bad eh?". About 3/4 of the way into the movie, a COP COMES IN AND SITS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US. Clayton said, "Did you see that lady point at us?", "Em, I think that cop is here for us". My heart started racing. I began thinking, "I am going to have to have my Mom come bust me out of jail at 26!", "I am old enough they could prosecute. Was it worth it?", "What should we say if they ask why? Because I was a stupid girl who teased about a double feature?"

Well, we decided to get up and leave. We hurried out the doors as soon as he couldn't see us, then ran to our car. I thought for sure we were going to hauled off in cuffs. I don't think I will ever enjoy a double feature again, because I was scared to death! What a stupid thing for me to do!!!!

A word to the wise, the junction isn't stupid.....they have real security guards.

Anywho--here comes more pics of the pups. Izzy is so curly that she got matted (I know bad pet owners). I felt so bad, I couldn't cut them out, so we had to take her to the groomer to get cut short. So, we decided both of them would get summer cuts, short all over but their ears & tails. They look a little silly right now, but in about a week they will be so dang cute.

Here are their cuts......Chloe really reminds me of the dog on Lady & the Tramp that sings 'he's a tramp".

Beads, Beads, Beads

So my cute Mom has found a new hobby. She has been making beaded watches and jewelry. I love them! They are watch faces with a beaded bracelet that you can change! I love that you can mix & match with your outfits. They are so much fun! Anywho--she plans to sell them this summer/fall at the farmers market across the street from my house on Fridays. She is addicted! Each night she is making something new. She has started making earings and necklaces to match too. She is just so darn crafty. I love her! So my cute friend Krysti at work sent me this email about prom in the hood. I couldn't believe my eyes, I laughed and starred in awe. I thought my high school prom was pretty ghetto since it was hosted in our decorated cafeteria (EVERY YEAR)--but this, my friends, tops them all. Enjoy!
